What we collect

• Account details — email, name, and an optional profile photo when you create an account (email/password or Google sign-in).
• Trip data — saved searches, planned trips, budgets, and packing lists you create while signed in.
• Newsletter email — if you subscribe; every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Donation details — payments are processed entirely by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your card number. If you volunteer a phone number for a thank-you text, we store only that.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or share your personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
• We don't run third-party display ads or ad-tracking pixels.
• We don't store payment card details on our servers.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links (for example Amazon gear links) are affiliate links: if you buy something after clicking, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, makeavacation.com earns from qualifying purchases.

Third-party services

Searches are powered by services such as Open-Meteo (weather), OpenStreetMap (stays, food, car-rental locations), Recreation.gov (campsites), Duffel (flight fares), Google (places autocomplete), Stripe/PayPal (payments), and Resend (newsletter delivery). Your queries are sent to those services only as needed to answer them, subject to their own privacy policies.

Cookies & storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and your browser's local storage for on-device conveniences (like saved weather places). No cross-site tracking.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data. Contact: hello@makeavacation.com.
